Lap Swimming (Day 229)

I swam at the pool today. Not just because of the potentially problematic red tide, but that helped make the decision easier. Mostly I swam in the pool because it was a very busy day and the pool fit best with my schedule. Also, I’m stuck paying for the Y until December and so I figure I should use it when I can.

I arrived late for my 40-minute slot (you still have to sign up for slots at the Y) and so I got right down to business the second I hit the water. I swam without stopping, hoping to make a mile. I didn’t manage it before my time was up, but I enjoyed my swim; enjoyed working on my front crawl technique; enjoyed the meditation of breathing rhythmically, gliding back and forth, back and forth, along the unchanging lane of the pool.
