Today was a summery morning at the Albany Bulb. So many swimmers came out; it was all fluorescent buoys and brightly-colored caps. Arwen, Sheila, and I started out together. We thought Angie had stayed in bed, but it turned out she arrived late and got in after we were already swimming.

I forgot my booties, but I realized I don’t need them anymore. The water was gloriously cool and it felt great to have my feet free. One of these days I’m going to abandon my bathing suit all together.

A light breeze blew and gentle waves carried us along. Looking back at the beach, it was nothing but dogs and people frolicking in the sunshine. It felt like a summer day.
