Angie and I met up for an unprecedented afternoon swim at the Albany Bulb. We usually avoid it because the very few times I have gone to the bulb in the afternoons, the kitesurfers have been out in force, which makes for an intimidating swim. There were no kite surfers today, but the water looked gray and wild.

We can just go for a short one, we assured each other. But once we were in, it felt wonderful. The temperature was slightly warmer (61) and it was easy to get in.

There’s something about being out in the afternoon that feels inherently fun; like I’m out for a leisurely jaunt to the beach. The wild waves intensified the feeling.
We bounced merrily along, washing away the frustrations of the day in the cool energy of the bay.
