Butterfly (Day 214)

It was a misty, drippy morning; warm and muggy, slightly raining. The world felt quiet and sleepy as I slipped into the water for Adult Swim. The scene was set for a relaxing swim, a meditative lapping back and forth, getting into a zone.

Ha! They fooled me.

For today’s workout, we had to spell out our names. The whiteboard contained the alphabet with a particular swim associated with each letter. It may or may not have been a coincidence (given that Hazel created the alphabet) that many of my letters involved butterfly. At one point I went from a 200 IM to a 50 butterfly to a 200 IM pull…or something like that.

I’m not genuinely complaining, though. It was a lot of fun and, despite the fact that my butterfly is terrible, I thoroughly enjoy it.
