You’d never know it by this blog, but I’m still swimming along. Writing occasionally turns out to be more difficult than writing every day. As the pictures and stories pile up, I’m too overwhelmed to even begin the process of capturing them. From where I sit (on my couch, in Quebec), what I remember most from the spring and early summer was a wedding (Sheila got married and we celebrated joyously at the bulb!)

The return of the pelicans (they had been suffering from a mysterious ailment and we saw almost none until they were suddenly everywhere and we rejoiced)

And some spectacular early mornings (as Angie went back to work and I joined the dawn patrol in order to swim with her before she caught her 7:20 ferry).

There was more but instead of trying to capture it all, I’m going to move forward and experiment with a return to daily posting for a bit to see if it gets me back in the rhythm.
So here we are, August 28th, 2024 at Lac Louisa, Quebec where I have spent the last glorious month and have another one to go. I woke up this morning to the thunderstorm that kept me awake last night moving on.

It replaced the muggy hot air that hung like a damp blanket over everything yesterday with a crisp, cool breeze and bright blue sky. The water temperature was 71° and the wind was churning up actual waves, an uncommon feature of my usual lake swims.
Yay, glad to see you writing!
