Peace and solitude were the words for my swim this morning. Oh, and cold. The water temperature dropped ten degrees since yesterday, according to the beautiful graph my swimming buddy, Colleen, is making to keep track of her swims. The cold temperature and the churning energy of the water were the only remnants of yesterday’s storm (which sadly was more wind and bluster than rain).

Other than that, all was calm when I arrived at the Albany Bulb this morning. The beach was totally deserted and, this time, I was able to soak in the solitude without getting creeped out. I swam slow and easy laps back and forth along the shoreline, listening to the birds and watching the sun climb over the hills.
